Another way to ensure moisture is not retained at your home is to remove carpeting as carpets also retain moisture. A better way to go about would be to replace carpets with hardwood or tiles. 

Also ensure the plumbing is properly working at your home so that it gets out of the house easily. Some people also have a humidifier or a vaporizer. In order to lower humidity, you must turn the humidifier to make the air dry. Make sure you have proper means of ventilation in the house like exhaust fans, ceiling fans and cracked windows. Temperature of your house also has an effect on the level of humidity in your house. If the temperature is warmer, the level of humidity will be lower in your house.
